YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s bail petition in the Supreme Court will come up for hearing on September 14 and this time, he is said to be pretty confident that he would get the bail.
According to highly placed sources, the Central Bureau of Investigation which has filed a counter in the Supreme Court is said to have put up a relatively weak defence while requesting the court not to grant him bail.
“The counter petition does not have strength. The CBI has argued that Jagan is an influential politician with his business empire spreading over all parts of the country; and hence, he can influence the witnesses. But the court has not showed any evidence as to how he can influence the witnesses, as investigation in most of the cases is completed,” a legal source in Delhi said.
One does not know whether it is a deliberate attempt by the CBI to put up a weak counter or it really does not have the strong points to oppose the bail, but there is every possibility that the Supreme Court might grant bail to Jagan this time. Hope, he would breath it easy at least after four months![/size][/font][/color]
