Maximus Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 1.The three eyes of the coconut represent the three eyes of Lord Shiva. The 3 eyes on the top they explain as satwa, Raja and Tama or Past , Present and Future or Sthoola, Sukshma and Karana Sareera or body etc 2.The coconut is broken, symbolizing the breaking of the ego. 3.One more excellent reason that the outer shell of coconut is the Ahamkara or ego which one has to break. Once the ego is shed the mind will be as pure as the white tender coconut in side. The Bhavaavesha or Bhakthi will puor like the sweet wate in it. 4.Quite common phenomenon to offer god something but coconuts and bananas does not contain seeds in them.. it means its not eaten by man and the seed is spit on the ground and the fruit has come from the seed.. its fresh from nature..uneaten by man..so it a sign of respect offering god the best.
