Yes that's correct.... coz am currently working for 3g UMTS.. and I worked for LTE trails also....in near future 2G will be completely removed as far as i know.

I would think to keep 2G/edge available, not every part of US has coverage of above spectrums... and anta cover cheyinche infra aite waste...
