Irrespective of whether or not they win, when I go to an employer who does background check is it going to effect me? As a student on F-1 visa isn't entitled have any other source of income apart from fellowships or oncampus part time jobs. But their argument is that its just a form of reimbursement or percentage discount that you get.

What are the odds that someone will get caught for this? Do you know of any such cases?
