Naidu padayatra: 'Oh Babu Repu Raa!'There is a superstition in certain rural areas of Andhra Pradesh to drive away ghosts and evil forces. Whenever there is a rumour about a ghost knocking the doors of houses during the night time, the villagers write on the front door saying: “Oh Stree Repu Raa” (Oh woman, come tomorrow); so that whenever the ghost comes to the house to knock the door, it reads the sentence and goes back. Since the writing remains on the doors permanently, the ghost will never get an opportunity to enter their houses.YSR Congress party leaders are comparing Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu to such a ghost, while criticising his proposed Padayatra from October 2.“If he tries to enter the villages, the people will be compelled to write on the walls saying – Oh Babu, Repu Raa; so that he would never be allowed to come to their villages. For nine years, the people of Andhra Pradesh had to face the sufferings in the form of Naidu ghost,” YSR Congress party leader G Srikanth Reddy said.He said even the TDP leaders do not have faith on Naidu coming back to power, as he had lost his credibility. “The people would never believe him and they would never receive him during the padayatra,” he asserted.
