try to avoid Ottawa, i have known some of my colleagues who are having lot of trouble in getting their visa's approved, for some of them they didn't say whether it is approved or not and kept the passports with them, and still they get client questionnaires and emails from consulate asking them to submit additional docuemnts

for couple of them, the VO (especially chinky guy causes lot of trouble) said that their visa has been approved and after a week they are receiving emails from consulate requesting additional documents...

i would suggest try to avoid Ottawa....this is not to scare you guys... i have seen this for couple of my colleagues...

dude nenu kuda..Ottawa lo stamping ayyindhi...of course i got a 221g and i had to stay there....ofcourse within couple of weeks i was back again, but this is not about me...i have colleagues who are struck in Ottawa, i am not saying that it happens for everyone, kaani Ottawa lo chinky mundakoduku vuntadu...vaadu chaala questions vestadu....and moreover maa colleagues already akkada struck ayyaru...vallaki no 221g's but still they are contacting the client...
and oka roju last week chinky gaadu ..almost andhariki 221g's ichadu...naaku experience ayina info chepputunna...ah thaurvatha...janala istam...

221g different types vuntayi...like white form, blue form...like further processing ani and admin processing ani vuntayi...

so ee cases lo they can send client questionnaire in which they have a set of questionnaire asking about employee-employer relationship or

they can verify your background or your company's background

or they may request additional documents (never know what they would be, since each case is different)

there is no specific timeframe to clear 221g...it may be cleared as early as a week(this is my case where i got it cleared withing a week 221g White form) or sometimes it can go beyond months...(and this varies for each case), but usually wild guess is it may clear or have some response around 2 weeks.
