CID additional DGP S.V. Ramana Murthy said Kumar was taking reven-ge after she spurned his marriage proposal. Kumar told the police that he had become friends with the woman while he was working in Hyderabad three years ago. “He proposed marriage, but she rejected him. From then on, he began blackmailing her, threatening to commit suicide. The woman tried to settle the problem by counselling him,” said CID Cyber Crime inspector B. Ravi Kumar Reddy.[/size][/size][/font][font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][size=3] [size=3]“After he left for USA in 2011, he continued to blackmail and started harassing her by sending spam mails with abusive contents and images to her colleagues, friends and relatives from her e-mail ID after hacking into it,” Mr Ravi Kumar said. Police said that Kumar and the woman had clicked some photos together. “He used those pictures to create fake profiles on Facebook and started defaming her character. He chatted online with her friends and relatives from those fake IDs and used abusive language,” the inspector said. CID officials found that Kumar was using a ***** server to conceal his identity.
