[/quote] Yes, If you want to install the an another DB instance you can just go ahead and use same binaries/ same oracle home, however you can install in a different home which I prefere. SOme thing like this: /u01/app/oracle/10g/X -> Current instance home /u01/app/oracle/10g/Y -> The one you are planning to and you can also install a 11G binaries for the the new instance Y.
