koustubbhargav Posted April 18, 2009 Report Posted April 18, 2009 By Abhimaan Kashyap Srikakulam: Chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy on Thursday cautioned the people against being misled by what he called unreliable promises of the TDP and the visionless new born baby called Praja Rajyam Party. Addressing public meetings in Palasa, Sompet and Tekkali, he sought to know what change Chiranjeevi was envisaging for the development of the state. "People of the state have a right to know what is his agenda as he has been talking much about the change. Would he like to abandon the Rs 2-a-kg rice scheme, would he like to abort the Rajiv Arogyasri scheme.” Continuing his tirade, Rajasekhara Reddy said “What change can a film star bring about who has earned crores upon crores from cinema tickets bought by the poor and spent not a paisa on his native village? What change can he now bring to eight crore people of Andhra Pradesh?" Turning his gun on Naidu, he said the TDP president who had opposed schemes like free power etc., had now become an ‘all-free’ persona and was promising 12-hours of free power supply to farmers and free rice. "You please ask him how you can believe his promises when he had opposed welfare schemes while in power. When we made promise of free electricity, he had taunted that there will be no electricity in wires and they will be used for drying clothes.” The chief minister said the day his government assumed office, it eased the burden of farmers by giving free power supply. He said the Congress government accorded prime focus to agriculture on which 75 per cent of the people depend. Further, he said most of the schemes that Naidu promised in his manifesto have already been implemented during his five-year rule. "Naidu has done much more harm to the state. There is no section of the people unaffected by his lopsided policies
