Not Possible To Accord A Title To Mahatma Gandhi

The Ministry of Home Affairs has answered to an RTI application.[/size][/size][/font][/color][color=#3F3F3F][font=georgia][size=4]
[size=5]A school student Aishwarya Parashar, in February had filed an RTI application with the PMO, seeking the notification by way of which 'Father of the Nation' title was conferred to Mahatma Gandhi. Her application moved between PMO, Home Ministry and National Archives of India. NAI said it has no such notification.[/size][/size][/font][/color][color=#3F3F3F][font=georgia][size=4]
[size=5]After which the girl wrote to the PMO requesting to issue a GO to confer the title of 'Father of the Nation' to Mahatma Gandhi. MHA, however, has turned out her request on the ground that under Section 18(1) of the Constitution obstructs notification on conferring the title to Mahatma Gandhi.[/size][/size][/font][/color][color=#3F3F3F][font=georgia][size=4]
[size=5]The said section of the Constitution does not permit any titles except education and military ones, said the ministry.[/size][/size][/font][/color]
