[color=#000000][font=georgia, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][size=3][color=#3F3F3F][font=georgia][size=4]Notwithstanding the Congress high command’s attempt to revamp the party and the government to rejuvenate the party cadres and Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu’s desperate bid to enthuse the party cadres with his padayatra, leaders from both the parties continue to defect into the YSR Congress party headed by jailed Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
On Monday, Congress MLA from Chintalapudi in West Godavari district Maddali Rajesh resigned from the party and the assembly membership to jump the fence into YSR Congress party. He met party’s honorary president Y S Vijayalakshmi and took the party’s Khanduwa. He declared that he had sent his resignation letter to assembly speaker Nadendla Manohar.
“I was elected as an MLA only because of late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. Now, it is my turn to show my gratitude towards his family. I will work as an ordinary worker for YSR Congress party and strive to make Jagan as the next chief minister. There is absolutely no future for the Congress party in the district and there is none to guide the party workers. With no activity being taken up on behalf of party and the cadres are feeling restive, the only option left before us to safeguard our political identity is to jump into the YSR Congress,” he said.
And the TDP, too, received a big jolt in West Godavari district with its MLA from Gopalapuram Taneti Vanitha also announcing that she would have no option but to join the YSR Congress party under pressure from the people of her constituency.[/size][/font][/color][/size][/font][/color]
[center]“I have made several representations to party president Chandrababu Naidu to resolve the issues in the district party, but he did not bother about the same. Right from the beginning, I have been a follower of my senior and former MLA Krishna Babu. Since he joined YSR Congress, I have to follow his footsteps,” she said.[/center]
