psycopk Posted April 18, 2009 Report Posted April 18, 2009 A quick survey undertaken at the behest of the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, indicates that people of both regions — Andhra and Rayalaseema — are concerned about living in Hyderabad after the Telangana Rashtra Samiti chief, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s purported anti-Andhra stand. Over 90 per cent of the people from the two regions responded favourably to the Chief Minister’s observation on the issue. “We are overwhelmed by the response of the people. This shows that they are keenly following the developments in Hyderabad. The telephonic survey asked 2,500 people to react to the Chief Minister’s observations,” said a close aide of the Chief Minister, who declined to give details as the model code of conduct was in vogue. The TRS chief’s remarks on many issues like the presence of educational, commercial and business establishments in Hyderabad owned by people from Andhra and Rayalaseema regions, were perceived as “unwarranted” by everyone. The people also protested against the TRS chief’s reported remarks on Andhra meals. It may be recalled that Mr Chandrasekhar Rao had instructed his followers to shut down hotels displaying “Andhra Meals” board terming it as an insult on Telangana food. Courtesy: deccan
