As expected, Telugu Desam Party MLA from Gopalapuram constituency in West Godavari district T Vanitha had to face the axe for inclining towards YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
Unlike in the case of Tamballapalle MLA Praveen Kumar Reddy who was suspended after he had met Jagan in the jail on Tuesday, Vanitha was suspended even before she formally met the YSR Congress party leaders. Perhaps, party president N Chandrababu Naidu did not want to wait till the MLA creates nuisance in the party.
The “Operation Akarsh” of Jaganmohan Reddy is apparently aimed at demoralising the TDP when Naidu is in the thick of his padayatra. By encouraging the MLAs and other leaders desert the TDP and jump into the YSR Congress, Jagan wants to create an impression among the people that the TDP leaders themselves had no faith in Naidu’s leadership and that the people would gain nothing if they vote for the TDP.
But the TDP president is trying to put up a brave front and wants to send a message across to the party cadres that he would continue to strive hard for the growth of the party and that the defection of some MLAs would only expose their vulnerability, rather than the weakness of the party.[/size][/font][/color]
