Lord vishnu venkateswara swamy avataram ettadaniki reason oka story cheptaru kada - Brughu maharshi trimoorthulalo evariki santham ekkuva ani test cheyyadaniki velatadu..because different reasons he curses Brahma that he will not have temples and Shiva that he will not be worshiped in his original roopa instead he will be worshiped as in 'Linga Roopa'. Later he kicks Vishnu on his heart which leads to Venkateswara avatara...

....all this happens in the begining of Kaliyuga(which is last of 4 yugas)..

2. In trethayuga (which is second of 4 yuga's) Lord rama, after winning over Ravana, did Shiva Linga Prathishta at Rameswaram and prayed to Shiva here to absolve any sins that he might have committed during his war against the demon-king Ravana.

How come Rama Prayed Shiva in Linga Rupa much before Kaliyuga,which is when the curse was given to Shiva??

the curse was, "from now-on no one will worship shiva in his original rupaa"........ that doesn't meant linga swarupaa doesn't exist....

its existing even before but due to some consequences it became the standard form of worshiping....

one small story:

" Raavana brahma - Shivudi Atham lingam kosam chese thapassu - Geeting Aathama lingam - On his way back to Lanka - Mr. Ganesh a.k.a vinaayakudu entry - Aathama lingam bhu-sthaapam -- one more Shiva Jyothrlinga.. "

The above story was occurred way before Lord Ram's era. So presumably aaa good olden days lo Lord Shiva ni both forms lo worship chese vaallemo... but; after Mr. Angry boy, Brughu maharshi saapam only one form lo worship chestunnaremo....
