Mike Brown Fired As Lakers Coach

USA Today’s [b]Sam Amick[/b] [url="http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/lakers/2012/11/09/mike-brown-fired-by-lakers/1694785/"][u][color="#0000ff"]was the first to report[/color][/u][/url] that Brown has been fired as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers after a disappointing 1-4 start.
The Lakers made if official a short time later with a [url="http://www.nba.com/lakers/releases/121109lakers-relieve-mike-brown-head-coaching-duties"][u][color="#0000ff"]terse press release[/color][/u][/url]:[indent]
“This was a difficult and painful decision to make,” said [general manager [b]Mitch[/b]] [b]Kupchak[/b]. “Mike was very hard-working and dedicated, but we felt it was in the best interest of the team to make a change at this time. We appreciate Mike’s efforts and contributions and wish him and his family the best of luck.”[/indent]
Less than 48 hours ago, Lakers executive vice president [b]Jim Buss[/b] [url="http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/8605737/los-angeles-lakers-jim-buss-says-mike-brown-safe-now"][u][color="#0000ff"]gave Brown a vote of confidence[/color][/u][/url]. Either Buss was lying through his teeth, or he — or someone around him — had a serious change of heart.
