As you already decided to pay back the balances i don't think it will be a big problem. once you pay back talk with any of the credit unions ex: Experian. going to collections and paying back will not effect credit history as much it would for not paying at all.So after you pay it back keep your history clean and and ask the creditor to re-initiate the credit card for the previous amount..
talk to any of the credit unions as they will make any changes to your credit history as you paid back ...
