Hey Friends,

I have applied for H1b extension in premium process, It reached the Vermont center on Nov.08.2012. I haven't received the receipt number yet as of today.
Please let me know if any one has an idea of when I would get the receipt number.

Thanks.

My cause of worry is my H1b expires on 26th.

You can work for 240 days from the date of h1b or I94 expiry (whichever is earlier). So you need not worry about the expiry & working.
Check with your attorney on the receipt number. You should at least have the receipt number (I-797c) in hand to prove that you are eligible to work based on above clause.

In my case, my h1&i-94 expired on April 1st and I haven't got any reposnse from USCIS till now for my extension. I can work only till Nov 26th (240th day from Apr 1st). Mine was a regular processing. Since your's is a premium, hope you will hear the good news soon

Okay, I dint know that 240 day rule. I will check for the receipt number. But is it normal for them to delay the dispatch of receipt number so much.. I mean its been 7 days now and they are supposed to give the the result in 15 days?
