No need of that. There is unlock software in India now for up to iOS 6.0. You can buy any locked phone for cheap price here.

give them your imei and within 24 hrs u can have iPhone unlocked.
Naa iphone 5 second day unlocked already

ebay lo veedey cheapest naku telisinanta varaku...
pls pass on so people who are using geevey simcards or jailbreak(what ever methods using to unlock their iphone will benefit )

after its confirmed,
follow my steps so u dont have to update to latest OS which by default will be slow coz of new features and less ram for old phones.

1. connect to internet and open itunes.
2. Go to Settings> general > RESET ( last lo unna option )
3. select Erase all content and settings
4. wait untill u see a message on itunes that u r iphone unlocked.
5.Next pandaga cheskoni patakulu kaalchukondi

Yeah, when u see the ebay link, it says only ATT. So only ATT phones can only be unlocked. ALso, IMEI starting with 01 can only be unlocked ( ante att phones and not replaced phones by apple anamata)

Equivalents:
ATT/Tmobile = AIRtel/aircel/vodafone ilantivi
Verizon/ sprint = tata indicom, reliance, virgin ilantivi

verizon and sprint iphone 5 ndont have to be unlocked to work in india coz they are never locked
verizon and sprint iphone 4S can only be unlocked by the carierrs ..
