Hummer Posted November 16, 2012 Report Posted November 16, 2012 What if I have applied for the 17 month extension but I have not yet received the card, can I travel out of the U.S.? No, the immigration service advises that while you are waiting for the approval of the 17 month extension, you should NOT try to re-enter the country until you RECEIVE the new OPT card.
