The Telugu Desam Party on Thursday came out with a strange demand: sending YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s wife Bharati also to jail in connection with the alleged illegal assets case.
“It is not enough to send Jagan alone to jail. Along with him, his wife Bharati, sister Sharmila and mother Vijayalakshmi also should be sent to Chanchalguda jail, because they too had a role in the scandal of amassing wealth through alleged illegal means,” TDP official spokesman Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu demanded.
He said the Jagan family was luring the MLAs from other parties into YSR Congress using sheer money power.
“There is no loss to the TDP if such vulnerable leaders leave the party. We are capable of building up new leadership in the party,” he said.
