if you want to improve your credit score,you need to have few more open lines/accounts.Just try to apply some store cards like macys,jcp or kohls.(at this stores and not online) You will be approved 100% even with a low credit limit.Use them for 3 months and you will get a decent credit score.Then you can apply for major cards and you will be be approved for cards with decent creditline and good APR

You can even apply now,but if it get declines it will leave a inquiry on your report and will reduce your score by 15 points and will remain in your credit history for 2 years.Even if approved you will not get a high credit limit !
