gre ,toefl anevi university req's..doesnt depend on status change..yes if u wnat to get admitted u have to have gre,toefl scores..

depends on university. if he is in USA for more than 2 yrs, they dont ask for Toefl. But, for graduate studies, if he/she want to get into a good university, they need good GRE score.

Required stuff for admission:

1. GRE
2. TOEFL (May be)
3. Financial Documents (a. Bank balance statement for around 30,000 to 40,000 USD and affidavit of upport)
4. Statement of purpose (important)
5. transcripts and degree copies. Resume.
primarily ivi. but once u get into application process u will know clearly.

One other benefit. If the person is applying in the same state where he or spouse have been working and if worked atleast since 12 months paying the taxes as resident, he will be considered as in-state and out of state tution will be waived. H1B visa is easy...but L2 and i am not sure. depends on university i guess.
