[b]Cleveland, Ohio:[/b][color=#3F3F3F][font=georgia][size=4] Akash and Amrita Vukoti (3 & 5 years) were accepted into Mensa, the international high IQ society. The Vukoti children scored above the top two percent of general population in order to be accepted into this prestigious society. American Mensa has about 57,000 members and very few of them are kids.[/size][/font][/color]

[color=#3F3F3F][font=georgia][size=4]Both the gifted children were born to their Indian parents who migrated to the USA several years before. The father, Dr. Krishna Vukoti, is a scientist and the mother, Chandrakala Vukoti, is an engineer. Their parents, who are not Mensa members, are very proud of their children’s accomplishment.[/size][/font][/color]

[color=#3F3F3F][font=georgia][size=4]From a very young age their parents noticed a surprising interest in their kids for alphabet and number toys compared to the racing cars and Barbie dolls. At the age of two, Akash participated in the “Multistate Spelling Bee Competition” and cleared the written round. He mastered the Merriam Webster’s primary dictionary (for ages 5-7) within a few weeks and his current reading abilities are equivalent to the kids three times older than him. More than identifying the US states by their shape, he can spell their names and capitals including tongue twisters like “Massachusetts”, “Tennessee”, and “Tallahassee”. Amrita, a kindergartener, is a topper in her class and is much ahead of her grade level. Apart from English, both the children can speak “Telugu”, their parent’s native tongue. Unlike many gifted children, both the kids are very sociable and love to play with other kids of their age. The children also enjoy Indian filmy music and dance.[/size][/font][/color]
