Power Star Posted December 10, 2012 Report Posted December 10, 2012 In response to Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan's three day Jana Chaitanya Surajya Deeksha in Hyderabad, several non resident Indians and overseas supporters of Lok Satta across the cities in U.S.A. including Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Luzerne, New Jersey, Mississippi, Seattle, Tennessee and Washington D.C. observed fasts and participated in solidarity and discussion events on Saturday and Sunday. It all started with Sudheer Reddy Panta of New Jersey doing fast at the same time Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan was doing fast in India. Dinesh Pagadala, VP Media of People for Lok Satta (PFL), announced solidarity with Jana Chaitanya Deeksha and made a patriotic appeal for more participation from their members to fast from where they are in office or in home. Rajani Karuturi, who is one among the 26, says about support by fast as, "when you believe in a cause and take up an activity like fasting along with others, you establish a deeper connection almost like something spiritual. You develop a level of calmness and peace. It helps being objective to solve the problem and makes you empathetic." PFL extends appreciation to other NRIs, Brahmani Boppudi of Pennsylvania, Vishnu Srungaram of Virginia, Venkat Pendurthi of Mississippi, Balaji Katragadda of Congo, Sripal sama of Chicago, Ravindra Nandam and Varma Dantuluri of California, Chandra Sekhar Raju and Pradeep Chukkapalli of Boston, Raghuram Tadimalla and Venkat Mamillapalli from Washington D.C., Ravi Shankar from seattle and all others for observing fasts and conducting solidarity events in respective cities. Dinesh claims that several members who did fast today had not done fasting even for religious purpose in the past and fasting without food for 24 hours across the globe shows that patriotism outlives the boundaries of the country .Padma Bhupatiraju, Hyma Sagi, Dilip Sankarreddy and Srinivas Ranabothu who supported and observed fasts along with Dr. JP at the venue are also PFL members who happened to be in Hyderabad. Objectives of Surajya are conducting long pending local body elections and transferring 10% of funds to local governments, enacting Lokayukta bill, citizen's right to public services within specified time limits among others. Dr. JP announced that the fast was not for threatening government but to raise consciousness of people and politics.

Manaku freedom ravadaniki kuda time pattindi. Marpu janam lo ravali leaders lo Andaru chaitanyam ga unte leaders enta. Surajayam ane conpects Inka ravali please don't discourage Velithe inkotanti mandiki cheppadi country is our we at least deserve it. Principles are to be followed not to be broken
