1.5 Lakh Litres Water A Day To Cool Naidu

[b]Adilabad: [/b]Nearly 1.5 lakh litres of water is being used to ensure that TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu’s padayatra is dust-free.[/size][/font][/color][color=#000000][font=Lato, sans-serif][size=3]
On the advice of doctors, Naidu has been walking on the earth instead of on metalled roads to avoid knee pains since November 9, when his padayatra had reached Parigi in Rangareddy district.[/size][/font][/color][color=#000000][font=Lato, sans-serif][size=3]
These days as many as 12 water tankers with a capacity of 5,000 litres each and two lorry tankers with 20,000 litres each water the grounds ahead of Naidu every day. Sources said that water tankers were making two trips every day.[/size][/font][/color][color=#000000][font=Lato, sans-serif][size=3]
Two blade tractors are also being used to clear bushes and undergrowth along the roadside before watering the ground.
The water is being tapped from the local agriculture borewells, added sources.[/size][/font][/color][color=#000000][font=Lato, sans-serif][size=3]
Barra Raghava Rao of Repalle in Guntur district, who was watering the ground, said that they were doing this an hour before the padayatra reaches a spot and the activity continues till the leader stops for the day.[/size][/font][/color][color=#000000][font=Lato, sans-serif][size=3]

Barra Raghava Rao who is watering the ground for the TD chief said they were pouring water on roughly 15 km every day.[/size][/font][/color][color=#000000][font=Lato, sans-serif][size=3]
“Local farmers are voluntarily giving water from their bore-wells for the purpose but they were using their own generators for tapping the water from the agriculture bore wells,” he said, adding that TD leaders Pattipati Pullarao, Anagani Satyaprasad, Garikepati Mohanrao and Payal Shankar had voluntarily given their tractors for the purpose.[/size][/font][/color][color=#000000][font=Lato, sans-serif][size=3]
Nearly 300 litres of diesel is being used for transportation of water, said sources adding that Rs 16,000 was spent on fuel daily.[/size][/font][/color][color=#000000][font=Lato, sans-serif][size=3]
Jetti Nagaraju, who is also involved in the watering the earth, said they were happy because they were contributing to the success of Naidu’s padayatra in their own way and added that the leader, while walking past them once had enquired whether they had lunch or not and had asked them to take care of their health.[/size][/font][/color]
