We are not too far off from having the rule passed for the H-4 Visa Holders able to work in the United States. This Rule has been submitted by the [url="http://www.uscis.gov/"]USCIS[/url] (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) and [url="http://www.dhs.gov/"]DHS[/url](Department of Homeland Security) last year and this has now been moved forward and is now under review.[/center] [center]Check out our previous post on [url="http://h1bwiki.com/h4-visa-options/"]Options for H-4 Visa Holders[/url][/center] [b] [b]Eligibility Criteria for H-4 Holders[/b][/b] [size=4]This rule would fall a little short of giving EAD’s for all the H4 Visa Holders. But those H-4 spouses of H-1B non-immigrants who have their green card process in progress might be able to avail this opportunity.[/size] [size=4]The abstract of the Rule, [b]RIN[/b]: 1615-AB92 states that:[/size] [indent=1] [b]The Department of Homeland Security proposes to amend its regulations by extending the availability of employment authorization to H-4 dependent spouses of principal H-1B non-immigrants who have begun the process of seeking lawful permanent resident status through employment and have extended their authorized period of admission or “stay” in the U.S. under section 104© or 106(a) of Public Law 106-313, also known as the American Competitiveness in the Twenty-First Century Act of 2000 (AC21). Allowing the eligible class of H-4 dependent spouses to work encourages professionals with high demand skills to remain in the country and help spur the innovation and growth of U.S. companies.
