Yaaa nenu adhe anukuntunna bayya and i ve worked as Teaching assistant in computer lab during my masterss.....this should also help i guess...

support your answer by mentioning Software courses like C, Java for Mech applications.
To be honest..C,Java are indeed used for Mech apps...
then tell them how your interest in programming has developed as per the companies requirement..
tell them how you stepped into the shoes of a programmer as there was no such resource available in emergency situation...for the company.
