Yes , You Definitely Can Req ur passport back... I wonder why they didnt give it to u wen they gave 221g .. u can always hav ur passport with you....send them an email req the same and they will give ur passport back and once ur visa is approved they will send another email for you to come and drop ur passport for stamping ...

Actual ga interview appudu approved ani cheppindi VO, almost 1week taravatha kuda passport rakapothe consulate ki mail cheste they came back saying it went into admin processing ani chepparu

actual ga matter enti ante bhayya..nen UK lo 4yrs nunchi unna..H1b ikada nuchi apple chesa approve ayidni, so ikakde interview attend aya..VO papa int appudu approve ani 1week taravatha 221g anindi..naku UK stay inka 37 days ee left(valid visa).

so passport return iste i will return to india, so nen ela malli passport consulate ivvali approval apudu?
