hi chocolate boy,
my opinion is that you should go to the dinnner and it will help you in improving the relationship between u and ur professor family and it will also let u know various things about their culture.....coming to the gift part,u can pick anything u wish to but my suggestion is try to gift aroma candle set(candles and grill to keep them).......coming to the dish, first ask them whats the level of spicy they can eat, if they say like mild then u dont want to add any chilli or chilli powder in ur dish......coming to the dress part, dress casually and dont go in suit or any funky dress..
