How many univ's are you planning to apply for ? dheeni bati some univ's(if any) I can suggest Below list looks good UIC - Terrific univ, great research bagging an admit is a little difficult task but a killer SOP and recommendations would do the trick. Also, try doing the prof-letting that will definitely give an edge for funding. ChampakDas Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 score: reasonable(if not good) enough to apply.. prof letting ante its a way to know if the professor is interested in your profile and ready to take you under him... in detail: You will check the professor's page if you think the research interests match with your research interests then you will shoot an email saying that I am doing work in this...interested in this blah blah and show that you are interested in his research...thats called prof letting...if he is interested you will get reply...now here's the trick...dont quickly jump to ask do you have research positions under you...let the email conversion go for at least 4-5...then he himself will let you know about the positions.... admits: depends, the sooner the better if you apply in sep/oct you can except the reply(admission decision) before dec...but if you apply in jan then it takes some time to hear about the decision because of so many applications.... UIC - if you apply now(as in Jan) expect to get a reply in April..
