In just a few hours the New Year 2013 is about to begin but it is not before we have a look at the past and see how things were in Tollywood during 2012. So far, we have seen the best of heroes, heroines, films etc but now it is the time to have a look at what went wrong at the Tollywood box office this year. So, here is a roundup of some of the best flops of 2012.

1. Devudu Chesina Manushulu (GA Rating 1.5/5)
This was meant to be like a saver for Ravi Teja and director Puri Jagannadh because their graph has not been going consistent. Most importantly, it was crucial for Ravi Teja thanks to his long record of flops over some time. But despite the presence of Ileana and the unusual script work the film failed to appeal to any genre of audience and it became a major disaster.

2. Nippu (GA Rating 2/5)
Gunasekhar who is known as the master of grandeur has been going through a lean patch lately and yet again he arrived with another dud in the form of ‘Nippu’. Some said it was the iron leg sentiment of Deeksha Seth. Few others said it was the total blunder in the script which led to the flop. All in all, sources say this film gave a major hole to the finances of producer YVS Chowdary.

3. Adhinayakudu (GA Rating 2/5)
Nandamuri Balakrishna who was riding high with the success of ‘Simha’ is slowly getting into the political mode and felt that this film would give him the right platform. The film suffered several hiccups for release and finally it arrived. Despite the presence of three heroines and three distinct characterizations, the film only ended up as a dud at the box office due to lack of strength in the storyline.

4. Naa Istam (GA Rating 2.5/5)
Daggubati Rana who has been trying real hard to send a message that he can perform as an actor came up with this film. Unusually, he had Genelia as his leading lady and even his characterization was more on the mass side. But all this became more like an experiment on Rana and his attempts to impress didn’t work. Rana showed his ‘Ishtam’ in the film but the audience showed their ‘Ishtam’ by giving thumbs down.

5. Endukante Premanta (GA Raing 2.5/5)
This was one film which came in with a very positive hype and many felt that it could be a trendsetter. The technical values, the locations, the screen chemistry between Ram and Tamannah and above all, direction by Karunakaran were the plusses so another ‘Tholi Prema’ was expected. But a supernatural element in the film which was rather unconvincing spoiled the product and sunk the film.
