In an attempt to kill a 22-year-old woman and her family members, a 24-year-old jilted lover set their house afire at Asapuvariveedhi in One Town area of the city on Saturday. However, the inmates of the house escaped with minor injuries and were sent to hospital for treatment.[/color][color=#5C5C5C]
The police arrested the accused identified as K Ashok (24), a painter residing in Jalaripeta in the city and remanded him in judicial custody.[/color][color=#5C5C5C]
Ashok harassed the girl to marry him for more than four years despite her rejecting his proposal. The woman was finally married to a police constable belonging to Hyderabad about a year ago. She came home this week to celebrate Sankranti festival with the family members. Ever since, Ashok has started harassing her and also kept making phone calls to her.[/color][color=#5C5C5C]
