Insurance, stock options, sign on bonus lu, 401 k lu anni untayi.. when compared to contracting, FT better if you are into a good company. If you are in a very small start up company you have to work hard prove yourself and all(adi konchem kastam)... FT lo secured life.. Stamping / H1's appudu issues peddaga undavu.. only consulting ekkuva untai.. I was a FT in one of the top 5 companies, After I got my visa, I resigned and now working in contract. not about pay or anything, I like the place texas andukani..

reddynaidu Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 Full Time vs Contracting 1) decent pay with timely hikes ( i got a hike of 5% 2 times) 2)Espp - Employee stock purchase program, the company buys stock for you at a discounted price of 15%,on the LOWEST price in a given set of days ( 15% profit on 10% of ur salary - which rounds about 3000 if the company is doin good) 3)Stock options - given the day you join(generally between 500-2000) and mature every quarter. you can sell them if you see a profit or hold onto them 4)401K contribution - if it is a good company and you are lucky - 2:1 ratio 5)Insurance - health, Dental ,Vision...to you and the whole family at a dead cheap price (about 30$/person) 6)Legal advise - with a fee of 15$/yr 7)H1 - piece of cake for stampings and can be reimbursed. 8) no hassle when you jump to another company 9) Firing an employee is not easy unless the company is going for a mass layoff. 10)some companies even pay for your car oil change and wash etc etc.. 11)Flexible work timings 12)Dress like whatever u want..I go to work in my Pyjamas some times The most important thing - Doing a job in what you have studied gives u satisfaction and security . I have been working in a Fortune 500 Company for 3yrs now and I enjoy every minute. There is tough times but I have a very good time here. Beer parties, occasional lunches, spot bonuses, bowling activities, sports tickets discounts , employee store discounts, Vietnamese coffee shop trips etc etc.. Multicultural team - you get to meet different people and know about different cultures ( Viet,Chinese,America,Mexican,Indonesian,India,Venezuela )... I agree that the pay is more in contracting but there is benefits and peace of mind in FT..No need of moving 1 most important thing - Year end BONUS!!!
