Performance testing

Hi,

I need to do some performance testing for few web services i mean web methods and I'm pretty much new to performance testing. I would be glad if any one could suggest ideas how to go about it. we are currently using soapui tool for doing some regression testing for the wsdl's but how can i achieve performance testing using this tool.

any help is really appreciated.
