Even as India and Pakistan spar over Shah Rukh Khan's security, the actor has come out and clarified that he has never felt unsafe in India. "I want to tell those offering me unsolicited advice that we are all safe and happy in India," the actor said.
His essay titled 'Being a Khan' for a magazine, where he has spoken of being targeted for his Muslim identity, attracted strong reaction from Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik. Malik asked the Indian government to provide security to the star, a claim which attracted a strong reaction from India.
India responded strongly to Malik's demand, with Home Secretary RK Singh asking Malik to worry about the security of Pakistan's citizens and clarifying India is fully capable of looking after its citizens. "We are capable of looking after our own citizen, let him worry about the security of his country's citizen," RK Singh quipped.
