As you guys may have know tht Pranab Mukharjee who presented the annual budget for 2010-11 proposed 5 percent excise duty tax on petroleum products and 1 Rupee increase of Excise Duty on Petrol and Diesel...

with this... the petrol prices got hiked with immediate effect....

so petrol hiked by 3.15 and diesel by 2.85 in hyderabad and will vary in small paise in other cities....

and mind yo uguys... this is not the direct hike tht govt wanted to do... this hike is due to the tax levy... and the actual hike by govt will be another 3 rupees on petrol and 2 rupees on diesel according to the international markets... so get ready for another hike no later than soon.... US IS A  MARKET BASED ECONOMY WHERE EVERYTHING WORKS ON DEMAND AND SUPPLY WHICH ARE REFLECTED IN INDEXES

WE CANNOT COMPARE INDIA AND US AS INDIA IS STILL LONG WAY TO GO

IT IS THE INEFFECTIVE POLICIES OF INDIA TO SUBSIDIZE MANY SOAPS TO FARMERS THAT COST THE ENCHEQUER SO MUCH MONEY, MOST FO THEM DONT REACH FARMERS ACTUALLY

INDIA LO STATE RUN OIL COMPANIES AND STATE RUN REFINERIES, SO THE CONCEPT OF PROFIT EXISTS  ONLY IN PRIVATE SECTOR

RELIANCE TRIED SELLING IN PRIVATE SECTOR WITH HIS OWN PRICES , BUT IT HAS TO CLOSE DOWN IT RETAIL BUSINESS AND SELL THE OIL FROM ITS REFINERIES TO STATE RUN COMPANIES LIKE ONGC, BP, HP

THERE IS NO INDEX FOR COMMODITIES AND OIL IN INDIA, ONE MORE REASON WHY PRICES DONT DONT REFLECT ON DAILY BASIS

WHEN US WAS PAYING 40 CENTS PER LITER, INDIA USED TO PAY MORE, THE PROFITS WERE USED TO SUBSIDIZE LPG AND KEROSENE

UPA HAS TOTALLY FAILED CONTROLLING PRICES AND ALLWAYS SEEMS TO BE DRIVEN BY GROWTH RATE

OUR ECONOMIST PM SEEMS TO BE STILL THINKING THAT HE IS IN UK OT HOLLAND WHERE HE SPENT MOST OF HIS TIME IN TEACHING

PEOPLE SHUD BE SLAPPED FOR ELECTING THIS GOVERNMENT.. THEY HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS MISGOVERNANCE

the government is selling petrol diesel LPG kerosene at loss untill now since the last 2 years

the state companies accrued total loss of 40000 crores, they cannot continue like that anymore, the government shud have increased it long back, but due to elections they thought if they ever increase the prices they might loose.. election year vachindante most of the policy decisions are not implemented just because they loose even if it of national interest
