Urgent Help Needed Regarding Opt Stem Extension

I need some help in Opt stem extension...Electrical Engineering

When I applied for the opt extension I applied it with a wrong I20 (I applied with 12 months I20) .... According to USCIS , as of now my application has been put on hold ...asking me a I20 from my school stating that I am Eligible for 17 month extension..

Then I asked my univ for a 17 month I20 but I have a problem here..My univ people says technically your opt have been expired so we cant issue a Normal I-20 and they said we can do as much as help but we are not sure about this...

I applied for Opt extension within my Pre-opt period...precisely I applied before 20 days of my opt expiry and I also got a confirmation from USCIS that your packet has been accepted ..


so anyone can please help me on this...how can I get a 17month extension I20 from univ....is there a way to update my sevis and talk to USCIS ??

tough times.. if ur OPT is already completed.. I am not sure if u can apply for an extension..

First option is the School..

I already applied to opt extension and they recieved my packet but they are asking me a new 17month I20

application received kadha..just like rfe ..uscis needs more information... adhe paper lo petti school vaadu i20 issue cheste..it might help

its u applying to OPT Extnsn to USCIS .

Its the I-20 generated by ur School for the Extension is the first piece that matters to USCIS..

so if ur opt is already expired and ur School didn't generate a new OPT EXTENSION I-20 requesting for the 17-Month Period Extension..

USCIS doesn;t do anything with ur request for extension.

to get an Extension of ur OPT. ur school need to start the process of generating a new I-20 ....

this is within the knowledge and Experience I had with my own case..

Did u apply for the OPT Extension i-20 before Jan 11th or before Jan 31st in your school??

naaku rfe feb 5th ki vachindi...kaani naa opt expired on jan 31st

akkade problem..maa school lo adigithe nee opt expire ayindi ippudu we cant issue a Normal I20 antunaru....em cheyalo ardam avvadam ledu

u can send anything to USCIS and they will acknowledge they recieved it.

but its the School that generates the I-20 which is the actual request form for extension..

If you already had an Extension I-20 by now. no other issues..

for your case bro..

But as of now you are in the 60-day Departure preparation period if there is no new I-20 issued by your school.

I applied before jan 31st...I did a mistake by applying on my own without checking the documents clearly...

main problem is I dint inform my school that I am applying for opt extension.. so they din't printed out the new I20 ...I know I did a huge mistake so I am checking any other options...

me employer ki unde lawyer tho matladu baa..he will discuss possible things..school cooperate cheste problem might be solved
