if u didn't apply before ur opt expired in the school.

there is not hign much u can do .. and u are not supposed to legally work now.
as ur in the 60-day grace period .. also known as .. 60-day departure Preparation period

Boss 1st thing - do not panic, 2nd thing - think logically.

As per your situation, nuvvu voopt expire ayyaka extension apply chesav, that too with an old i-20, so nee extension with the provided documents, approve kaadu.

things I would do
1) talk to your school and see if they can issue a new 17 month i-20, as per my understanding, once the school says no, it a big no no situation, but try for it. If this works make sure you receive the new i-20 before feb last week, endukante oka saari nee voopt expire ayyaka, there will be a 60 day window during which school can reinstate your sevis (sevis terminates your sevis id [b]AUTOMATICALLY[/b]) and ur school if interested can reinstate within that period.
2) If the school says NO we cannot do it, forget the lawyer, I would join a new school and get a new cpt and move on from there.

I personally believe that the second option is much better and quicker for you, in either options dont waste time, get it fixed asap. gud luk for ur future.

This is the only option i am seeing from my other search and check with my other friends who works in the International student office.

and one more question...my sevis has been expired....can I apply to another univ without my sevis ??

Your sevis decision is made by your School Designated School Official . only he can look into it.. if possible to save you..
thats wwhat happened in my case exactly..

if possible ..go and talk to him in person..

West coast lo school lo join avvu.. But don;t go for School with CPT & OPt

go for a good school and apply for h1 after teh april 1st..
you don't need CPT for the H1B applying proces..


Ask your employer to manage things until .. u get into the approved H1 b status..

yes they can for a regular i-20, say u r studying u ur i-20 date is only till dec 2012 and as of today u r still studying then they can do it, but im not sure if the same rule applies for opt i-20 also or not, but you shuld go check with ur school asap.
