FYI....source below.... While it may seem that deleted files are gone forever, there is a good chance you will be able to recover them, especially if they were only recently removed. Holding "Shift" while pressing the delete key removes a file without first sending it to the recycle bin. The deleted file is not immediately removed, however, but instead marked as something that can be written over. You can think of it as using a blank VHS tape: Even if you write "OK to tape over" on the label, the information on the tape is not immediately removed. Only when your hard drive becomes full is information gone for good.
