I agree he is in departure preparations these 20days.. But once he receives the Receipt of OPT Extension he will be under valid status until the decision is made. (same like us manam OPT aipoye time ki decision raakapotey doesn't mean we are out of status kada). This is I know because, maa cousin gaaniki OPT RFE padindi.. He responded lately appatikey chala time ayipoindi... so what he did was,

vaadiki inka valid visa unindi for 1 year or so.. verey university i20 teeskoni, SF daggara border cross chesi by walk malli by walk lopaliki vachadu... akkada baaney easy ga undi anta POE.. tarvatha anni manchiga aipoyayi... so these are all d options he has..

I agree with you.

I am saying if he is not able to recive any response within 30 days from the day he sent the packet to ?USCIS .. from now.

he is already done with 45-days in his 60-day period.
So he need to make some move in that 15-days .. Either get a new admission to a new school under a new SEVIS .. if the old SEVIS is not transferrable,,

Or drop the OPT Plans and go for a new School by transferring the SEVIS, so that he don;t need to cross the border and get a new I-94 and new SEVIS Record.


I prepared myself to leave the country and enter with a new I-94 as my H1 was rejected while I am in CAP-GAP Extension petriod and inthe last week of September.

but luckily my School DSO didn;t terminate my SEVIS and he gave me 24-hr time to get admission into a new School so that I can transfer the SEVIS.
