The much delayed and most awaited movie has finally arrived. It has brought Mahesh Babu along with Samantha under the direction of Srinu Vaitla. Let us take a plunge into the details.[/font][/font][/color]

Shankar Narayana (Prakash Raj) an honest man with ideals who does a lot for the poor. His good deeds find enemies (Kota, Supreeth, Sayaji). Shankar’s son Ajay (Mahesh Babu) grows up to be an honest and tough cop.[/font][/font][/color]
[color=#3F3F3F][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif][font=georgia]While the whole world thinks Shankar Narayana is dead, he is actually recovering in a hospital. Meanwhile, unaware of all this flashback Ajay sets on a mission to hunt Nayak (Sonu Sood), a dreaded mafia don. In this process, he comes across Prashanti (Samantha) and falls in love with her. Meanwhile, Shankar Narayana recovers but he is not supposed to go through any sort of stress.[/font][/font][/color]

The story takes a turn when Ajay discovers about the attack on his father and decides to take revenge. How does he do that? Whether he is successful or not forms the rest of the story.

Mahesh Babu gives a powerhouse performance. His versatility in acting and emoting of various expressions is impressive. As usual, he rocks with his style and handsome looks. [/font][/font][/color]
[color=#3F3F3F][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif][font=georgia]Samantha looks sweet. She manages to do justice in songs and the light romance track. However, she must reduce her dose of makeup and start focusing on adding few extra pounds, that will make her double sexy.[/font][/font][/color]
[color=#3F3F3F][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif][font=georgia]Prakash Raj was matured as usual. Though he doesn’t have intense scenes in it, he maintains a contained act and does his bit as required.[/font][/font][/color]
[color=#3F3F3F][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif][font=georgia]Sonu Sood looks stylish as a villain but his characterization is not that powerful. This time, he was not able to create the required impact. [/font][/font][/color]
[color=#3F3F3F][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif][font=georgia]Nasser was natural, Brahmanandam was hilarious, M S Narayana was fantastic, Vennela Kishore brought few extra smiles and made his presence felt, Sonia was alright, Subbaraju made his presence felt, Kota was effective, Sayaji Shinde was standard, Aditya Menon was apt, Tanikella Bharani was elegant, Supreeth was okay. Special mention must be made of Parvathi Melton. Her item song and her oozing sex appeal is a visual delight. The others did their bit as required and added value.

The two names, Mahesh Babu and Srinu Vaitla, are enough to set high expectations for the film. But the best way to enjoy this film is to go with an open mind. As such, this is a typical Srinu Vaitla film and his formula and pattern is the same from start to finish.[/font][/font][/color]
[color=#3F3F3F][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif][font=georgia]Subba Raju’s character resembles Jaya Prakash Reddy in ‘Dhee’. Brahmanandam’s character resembles what he portrayed in ‘Ready’.[/font][/font][/color]
[color=#3F3F3F][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif][font=georgia]Only difference is, the commercial elements are high and for a change he has shown villains as villains and not converted them to good beings.[/font][/font][/color]
[color=#3F3F3F][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif][font=georgia]As usual, Vaitla relied on his strengths ie comedy and dialogues. During the first half, things are quite erratic and it is hard to connect. Many were looking at their watches for the interval bang. During the interval many gave thumbs down reactions and somewhat negative vibes.[/font][/font][/color]
[color=#3F3F3F][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif][font=georgia]The much hyped Mahesh Babu’s MLA get up is wasted in the film. The purpose of raising curtain for a reality show by Mahesh Babu is not at all convincing but boring. Taking the bigger risk of reality show to keep father happy is like a cock and bull story. The entertainment graph falls down suddenly due to that. Audience gets disconnected to the film at that moment for about 20 minutes. Although the purpose of that reality show is not convincing, the pattern in which it goes with other artistes brought the humor.[/font][/font][/color]
[color=#3F3F3F][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif][font=georgia]But second half covered up the entire thing and no one looks at the watch anymore. There are few points which are worth mentioning here:[/font][/font][/color][list]
[*]When Dharmavarapu faxes a celebrity photo to the villains. All are shocked. You must watch the film to enjoy that.
[*]The scene between Sonu Sood and Prakash Raj. It is a straight lift from ‘Sarkar’ scene between Amitabh Bachchan and Zakir Hussain, but a weak imitation.
[*]Last twenty minutes comedy and the dialogues of Brahmi and M S Narayana

[color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]Sadhu Bhai (Kelly Dorjee) is a big don living abroad and he is using his power to create terror and anarchy in India. But soon, he starts getting competition from one person called Baadshah (Jr NTR).[/font][/color]
[color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]Baadshah’s father Dhanraj (Mukesh Rishi) has a casino in Macau which is eyed by Sadhu but Baadshah hatches a plan and starts creating trouble for Sadhu Bhai.[/font][/color]
[color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]At the same time, he also makes another plan, goes to Italy and catches the attention of Janaki (Kajal). Soon, Baadshah and Janaki fall in love but she doesn’t know his identity. Who is Janaki? Why did Baadshah go for her? Does he eliminate Sadhu Bhai? [color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]Jr NTR is back with a bang. He danced with enormous fire and ‘Kasi’ and the energy levels in his performance were also quite high. Some of his dialogues will create a flutter among his fans.[/font][/color]
[color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]Kajal Agarwal was there to give the visual feast and some tender moments. Role-wise there is nothing much for her but she made her presence felt wherever possible.[/font][/color]
[color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]Brahmanandam is the one to watch out for. In fact, the entire film takes a different turn as soon as he arrives and his versatility and expressions are entirely hilarious.[/font][/color]
[color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]Kelly Dorjee carried out his role as required, Mukesh Rishi was good and made his presence felt, Navdeep proved well with his villainy looks, M S Narayana gave his share of humor as Revenge Nageshwara Rao but didn’t work as per expectations, Vennela Kishore was apt and brought some laughs, Nasser was natural and exhibited different angle in him dancing like Kamal Hasan, Siddharth was very brief, Meenakshi Dixit is sizzling hot in a song, Suhasini was standard as mother. The rest of the artists were there to fill the screen and added good value to the film.[/font][/color]

[color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]From the day the film was announced, the expectations were set high because it was bringing a crazy combination of Jr NTR and Sreenu Vaitla. At the same time, there was also some doubt because Vaitla is known for a formula comedy plot and repetitiveness might come in. With the kind of budget that went into this film, another challenge was there to get the output in the maximum.[/font][/color]
[color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]But despite all these odds and challenges, it can be said that the film will come out with good results. Vaitla is one director who is not a good balancer. He cannot depict action, sentiment, romance, comedy with the same depth and impact. But at the same time, his forte is comedy and he knows how to extract the best from his team and deliver it with full gusto to the audience. This is the main reason why ‘Baadshah’ works.[/font][/color]
[color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]There is the Jr NTR factor no doubt but the episodes like Dream Machine, Justice Chowdary, the Ladies dance for Senior NTR songs are what the authentic Telugu family audience looks for. In fact, the Sr NTR songs bit is not on par with Antyakshari scene of Gabbar Singh as predicted. And Vaitla has delivered it in a platter. Due credit must be given to NTR for the way he merged into his character and it was clear that he was hungry to prove a point.[/font][/color]
[color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]But Brahmanandam proved to be the hero of the movie with his comedy as Padmanabha Simha IPS.[/font][/color]
[color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]As such, the film takes off on a monotonous note and there seemed to be an issue with the coloring as it appeared dull and few shades were pale. The regular scenes and the interval bang were all predictable. But the total mood gets elevated in the second half and it is a roller coaster ride of laughter in many places. If only Vaitla can start working on improvising the action, drama episodes then he will be on his way to give Tollywood’s number 1 blockbuster.[/font][/color]
