Swine Flu -- Safety and Prevention:

Recommended Posts

Posted

On Wednesday, the World Health Organization raised its pandemic alert to its second-highest level, 5, as swine flu continues to spread.

Safety and Prevention:

The following recommendations continue to apply:

Take care of yourself. Eat right, exercise and get plenty of sleep. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. If you are sick, stay home in order to prevent others from getting sick.

Wash your hands frequently.

Cover your cough. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when sneezing or coughing. If you do not have a tissue, sneeze or cough into your sleeve rather than your hands.

Begin to practice "social distancing," maintaining at least three feet from other people to reduce your risk of being infected.

Talk to your doctor about further precautions. If you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms, contact your doctor right away.
