It is specified in the SIT report with evidence. So it was not the cause of the riots. Unfortunately, they lied on national TV that they have new evidence that Gujarat govt has claimed as destroyed. This is based on SIT interim report tabled on 2010. So their claim that some 'new evidence' is unearthed is a lie. Its an evidence already investigated by SIT and commented on in the report. You should read the report.
