H1's Issue My University Replied

For example…Student has an H1-B petition filed on April 1 and this student’s 12-month OPT ends on June 30. If this student has not heard anything related
to their H1-B by the end of May or beginning of June then we would recommend this student apply for the 17-month OPT Extension in early June. This would be to avoid any
possible issues with waiting to file during the cap gap extension. If your H1-B is approved then great…if not you can continue on the 17-month OPT Extension.
