and please dont consider ur opt as ur status opt is an added privilege to the f1 status that u can work with ur student visa..
ur still in f1 visa now
u applied for h1 change of status
how can u think of travelling when u have ur status pending here in u.s
u can go to india but at port of entry u gonna face questions at ur reenter into us

if u have not applied for h1 this april u can go for sure and re enter without any issues but u have filed ur h1.
talk to ur attorney they will explain u everything
