This post may be helpful for all those whose h1b application is not picked in lottery or h1b got denied. Add your opinions. [list] [*]my stem opt expires on june 17 2013. [/list][list] [*]I had applied for h1b this year (masters+premium+california) [/list][list] [*]my application picked in the lottery [/list][list] [*]i got cap gap extension i20 from my college valid until sep 30 2013. [/list][list] [*]i got RFE, asking below things [/list] [b](1)[/b] prime vendor and client master agreement, ( I asked my prime vendor about this today and he told that they cannot give the agreement to me.) [b] (2)[/b] purchase order till 2016 from prime vendor ( I currently have my purchase order until 2014 , march. I asked my prime vendor about this and he told that they can't give until 2016) [b](3)[/b] email conversations, pay stubs, id card ( these i can provide easily) if my employer responds to rfe without[b] (1) (2)[/b] on may 15 and if in the worst case, my h1b got denied on may 24. THEN: my doubts : [list] [*]i will now have 60 day grace period (may 24 2013 to july 24 2013) and my cap gap extension [/list] will be void(worthless) now. [b]CAN I APPLY FOR CPT COLLEGES IN THIS 60 DAY GRACE PERIOD (may 24 2013 to july 24 2013) ??[/b] if i can apply for a college and if i got i20 and if classes begin from aug 24, 2013 [b]CAN I STAY IN US LEGALLY {from july 25 2013 to aug 24 2013} ??[/b] (my grace period ended on july 24 2013, but i have new i20, my new college starts from aug 24 2013) PLEASE ADVISE!!

vikuba Posted May 1, 2013 Report Posted May 1, 2013 once u get an i20...u enroll in college..u are in status ...although it starts on a later date. u cannot work till ur cpt starts.

kakariraja Posted May 1, 2013 Report Posted May 1, 2013 hey i am in the same boat. follow these steps 1.reply to your rfe immediately with premium processing. 2.get a cap gap I -20 till sep 30th from your university with the receipt number. 3.Wait for your h1b for 2 weeks .........if u get h1b kool or else if u get another rfe or if ur h1b is denied immediately apply for a college ...get the new i-20......enroll in college so your status will be maintained. u and apply for college get i-20 and enroll in it before july itself der is no need to worry about 60 days period.

[/quote] thanks for the response dude.... i already got cap gap i20. my employer told that he will respond to rfe before 15 of this month. please check my doubts in bold at the end of my post!!
