It is learnt that the Apex Court delayed the court proceedings following the death of senior lawyer Hiralal Sibal. Scores of Jagan's supporters have gathered near the party office and in the court premises hoping for the good news. Several partymen and well wishers also offered special pujas for the release of their icon. The court will first deliver its verdict on the bail petition filed by industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad and the counter petition filed by CBI against auditor Vijay Sai's bail plea. The court will then pronounce verdict on Jagan's bail plea.

The apex court said that Jagan’s release will hamper the probe in the case which is of high magnitude. It said that likelihood of tampering with evidence and influencing witnesses cannot be ruled out on his release. Jagan has been in jail for almost a year, arrested by CBI in connection with his disproportionate assets. It's been 348 days since Jagan was arrested. The court directed the CBI to wind up investigation into the case within four months. If the probe doesn't happen, Jagan can apply for a bail again in the trial court. It is learnt that the CBI has now assured the court that the probe will be completed within the stipulated time. A bench headed by Justice Sathasivan and Justice Iqbal pronounced the verdict. This came as a major disappointment for scores of Jagan's fans at the party office as well as the court premises in Delhi who were hoping to receive some good news.
