The Telugu Desam Party is most likely to lose yet another leader – this time its MP from Chittoor N Siva Prasad, if his comments against the party leadership are any indication. Siva Prasad on Monday came in support of former minister Kadiam Srihari who had quit the TDP a couple of days ago and is all set to join the Telangana Rashtra Samiti. The MP said Srihari had taken a decision according to his conscience. “Just because Srihari has resigned from the party keeping in view his political future, he cannot be called a traitor or political debaucher. For that matter, who is not a defector in the TDP?” he said, in an indirect reference to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu. He found fault with the TDP leaders for attacking those who were quitting the party, instead of persuading them to stay back in the party. “Surprisingly, the party leadership says there was no impact on the party if the leaders quit it. The party should take steps to prevent the exodus by taking everybody into confidence,” he said. There was a talk sometime back that Siva Prasad might join the YSR Congress party. However, he stayed back in the TDP and has been participating actively in all the party programmes. Now, by giving such statements, he triggered speculations that he might quit the TDP very soon.
