[color=#4E2800]Sonia Gandhi and Ajit Jogi (former CM of Chhattisgarh) seem to have played a masterstroke in Chhattisgarh. If you are aware of the long-term as well as immediate history of Congress leaders Mahendra Karma, Nand Kumar Patel and V. C. Shukla (seniormost Congress leader in MP and Chhattisgarh) then you will realize why you can smell a rat in the attacks. This would not even be the first time that Congress/Left politicians hve used their contacts to 'employ' the Maoists as 'hitmen' to get rid of their political rivals. It routinely happened in AP & WB in the past.[/color]

In the late 1990s, Karma had broken away from Sonia Congress & joined Madhavrao Scindia's MP Vikas Congress instead. Similarly in the late 1990s early 2000s, Shukla had broken away from Sonia Congress on the issue of her foreign origin and joined with Sharad Pawar's NCP. Both later returned to Congress for their own opportunistic political reasons.[/color][/left]


[left][b][color=#4E2800]Jogi decided to fly back by copter and didnt take the road route like other colleagues after the joint rally in Sukma. He and his closest advisors were the only ones to do so; rest entire Cong state leadership by road through Maoist areas.[/color][/b][/left]

[color=#4E2800]All of Jogi's closest supporters and tier-2 leaders travelng by road such as Kawasi Lakhma miraculously survived the attack. All of Jogi's enemies & rivals in the convoy got killed. ONLY his intra-party enemies got eliminated while ONLY his intra-party supporters survived. Sonia and Jogi have ALWAYS been soft on Maoist terrorism possibly due to their common funding from foreign missionaries. [/color]

[color=#4E2800][b]In fact, both Sonia and Jogi long nursed anger and contempt towards Karma for establishing Salwa Judum (Anti-Naxal Tribal force).[/b] V. C. Shukla was the prime rebel responsible for bringing down Jogi's govt and getting BJP elected in 2003 to a region that was a Congress bastion for 50 years. [/color]

[color=#4E2800]Nand Kumar Patel had been groomed (by Shukla-Karma faction) over the past 5 years as Congress' CM candidate in the upcoming elections and therefore he was the Jogi father-son duo's primary rival for the CM position. Although Karma is being portrayed as the first & foremost target of the raid, Patel & his son Dinesh were the real targets.[/color]

Now Chhattisgarh Congress essentially been reduced to Jogi, his son Amit & the current LOP Ravindra Choubey a political lightweight. [color=#4E2800][left]In isolation none of the above points makes case for this being an internal Congress hitjob. But put all of them together, anyway the reason why this is a Sonia-Jogi masterstroke is because they have now become the only Congress faction in Chhattisgarh and because they will now reap a massive sympathy tsunami (in Karma's name) from poor & illiterate tribals.[/left][/color]

[color=#4E2800][left]Eliminate powerful state faction that was 'less' personally loyal/ sycophantic towards her Durbar, compared to Jogi and get an opportunity to badmouth the local BJP govt. The fact that Nand Kumar Patel & his son were dragged out, taken to a separate location & murdered is telling. Jogi aide Kawasi Lakhma, who was also dragged out with both of them, however, was mysteriously spared.[/left][/color]

[color=#4E2800][left]What is also intriguing is the assassins were also specifically looking for the sons of Patel & Karma. Why kill the sons? Having learnt her lesson after YSR this time Nehru-Maino dynasty decided to bump off the sons along with their dads. Congress leaders' route was changed to go through Naxal stronghold at last moment which a local Congress leader suggested that they change their route & go thru vulnerable Darbha Ghati. Raman Singh is a result oriented tough administrator...he has lot of open admirers in Chhattisgarh Congress as well...I smell a rat (Ajit Jogi) Now the VIP security in the state will be directly controlled by DGP (previously SP & IGs of districts used to take care)
