The real problem lies elsewhere: just because you studied in English medium school for your whole life back in India, it does not really help when you are dealing with 'native' accents (like Br, Am, Aus/NZ), unless the teachers who taught you English your whole life spoke in native accents.

Sure, watching shows, movies help you to some extent. It is better to tackle at where it matters most. Get a list of random words and try to pronounce them without the aid of any pronunciation of dictionary. Sure, you make mistakes. What kinda mistakes do you make? And treat these mistakes are systematic: that is, these mistakes have a rational basis.

When you Indians encounter a random English word, they use many tacit tricks: (a) analogy; (B) Indian way of syllabizing words (usually, it is Consonant + Vowel + (some times) Nasal); (c) how they substitute sounds (phones) to letters in the spelling (as they are called graphemes). For instance, look at how telugu is written here in the Roman (English) alphabet: this way of Romanizing Telugu tells you a great deal about how Indians map Roman letters to sounds, sounds to Roman letters. This mapping is the first hindrance to hear or learn native accents.
